Set Me Free

Dawn Piercy

The fire you set,

Burning me to death;

I am going to have,

To take,

One last deep breath;

Hands are clapping;

People are laughing;

If the do not stop,

All hell will be happening;

Now,

Nobody is laughing;

I hear no more clapping;

Hell is now happening;

Burned my body,

Not my soul;

You made a mistake,

You should have,

Been told;

Now all heads will roll;

My soul is still alive;

I thrive and I thrive;

I will have your heads for this;

That is a promise,

I did not lie;

Heaven and hell;

Where will I be?

Never to me?

Will I ever see?

Somebody help me,

Set me free.
